Christy Keeling graduated from the Santa Barbara College of Law and was admitted to the California State Bar on January 5, 1993. Prior to establishing her current practice, she established the San Luis Obispo Family Law Facilitator Program. She exclusively practices family law and was a Certified Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization. She is certified in divorce mediation and has been facilitating mediation since 2001. Additionally, she has successfully completed collaborative practice training and is a founding Board Member of the San Luis Obispo Collaborative Practice Group as well as being a member of the San Luis Obispo County Bar Association, and San Luis Obispo County Family Law Bar Association.
Christy has decided to refocus her practice from litigation into mediation and collaborative law. In order to further enhance her skills in the mediation and collaborative law areas, Christy pursued and received her Master of Science in Psychology from Cal-Southern University in December 2016. Since beginning this career transition, she has worked with many couples who are going through the dissolution process and found that emotional issues have been a key factor in how they work through this very difficult process. Her knowledge and experience with the subject of psychology has been gleaned from her many years of practicing family law. She believes that having a solid psychological foundation will help her better understand, and thereby serve, her clients.
